Jeremiah 31: 31-34
I WILL PUT MY LAW IN ВНУТРЕНОСТЬ THEM, AND WRITE IT IN THEIR HEARTS; AND WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. And they shall not teach each other saying, know the Lord : for they shall all know Me...»
Yesterday I decided to read the Bible, wanted to continue reading the New Testament, but accidentally opened Jeremiah 29. Actually, I don't like to read Jeremiah, because he's got eternal suffering. But sometimes God puts into my heart a strange feeling that I have to read now this passage of Scripture . And I am very fond of such things, because in such a way God shows me what is happening. I look at the Chapter 29 of Jeremiah, and I realize that I need to read it.
I began to read from chapter 29 and could not come off until the 31. I read and was surprised because of all positive things! But I was surprised that it appeared that Israel was in bondage not only in Egypt, but also 70 years in captivity in Babylon. And what is the most surprising, that the Lord Himself put them there.
This situation is very close to my heart, and yesterday when I read it I couldn't believe my eyes. Today when I reread it I still found what I found yesterday. The fact is that the first time I felt freedom within myself - it was the freedom from a slave mentality (Egyptian slavery)! And I continued to live in this freedom, but after some time I again felt in captivity. I didn't know that it was inprisonment but prayed that the Lord delivered me. I understood that I was in the captivity that God Himself gave me. And then I read this story about the Babylonian captivity and like on the palm of His hand everything became clear. All my personal testimony, personal experiences and feelings God put them all together like a puzzle and I saw the picture!
The Babylonian captivity, and the Egyptian slavery are radically different. And it's good! Because after the slavery of Egypt, God had led them in the desert for 40 years in order to change their way of thinking and lead them to the promised land. But after the Babylonian captivity, the Lord makes with them a new Covenant! After the Babylonian captivity comes JOY! A lot of joy and a lot of fun. When I read about what will happen after the Lord returns the people out of captivity, I had so much joy about this word. Because that exactly describes something that my heart longs for: «I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, o virgin of Israel : again be adorned with thy tabrets, and go forth in the dances of them that make merry, again you shall plant a vineyard...and sing in the height of Zion... and their soul shall be as a watered garden... then the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together...» well, in short the whole Chapter 31 - this is what my heart wants!
The people with the new Covenant - this is about me! Because before I read about this, for so many times I said that now is the time where I don't need anybody to teach, that the law is in everyone's heart. God spoke to me the same in different ways about the fact that we all are brothers for each other and we have One Teacher - Christ. He told me that my teaching is just to be myself and not to teach but to tell them about His relationship with me. God has revealed Himself to me, as God outside of time and out of age and outside of the statuses. In this voluntary captive God showed me and taught me so much. Babylon is the place where God cleanses us from impurities; it is a fire, which makes the salt salt, it is like a great base for the production of safe products. The place where the Lord works individually with everyone. The place, where over the gate is written « Surrender in captivity, unto the Lord.».
Yes, I am still in the midst of Babylon, but I can already see the end. Well, if you estimate that the captivity lasted for 70 years, then I'm somewhere in the 65-69 year. At least, I want to believe so! The people with the new Covenant are a wonderful people. People that are united, not because they have one purpose and one job, but because they see that they are children of one Father, learn from one Christ and are guided by one and the same Holy Spirit! Amazing unity is built not on a human leadership, but on the love of God! The people with the new Covenant - is something that is already there! I personally like the new Testament, I definitely agree to sign it!
